US NAVY SEA CADETS AND NAVY LEAGUE

The Sea Cadet Corps programs include two separate Corps: the Naval Sea Cadet Corps (NSCC) and the Navy League Cadet Corps (NLCC). The NSCC is for young men and women ages 13 through 17, is a federally chartered non-profit educational organization sponsored by the Navy League, and is supported by the Department of the Navy and the Coast Guard. The NLCC is for boys and girls ages 11 through 13. It is a junior, or supportive, program that is sponsored by the Navy League.

A National Board of Directors, whose members are appointed by the National President of the Navy League, establishes policy and guidance for the operation and administration of the Cadet Corps programs. The Board is headed by a Chairman who normally also serves as a Vice President of the Navy League. The Vice Chairman of the Board also serves as the National President of NSCC and NLCC, assisted by National Vice Presidents and National Directors. A full-time Executive Director and a small staff administer the Cadet Corps programs.

Our Mission

The basic objectives of the Naval Sea Cadet Corps and the Navy League Cadet Corps programs are: (1) to help young Americans become more patriotic and responsible citizens, and (2) to help young Americans understand the role of the maritime services in national defense and in maintaining the economic viability of our nation.
